The rocket must be returned to the certifying official after recovery to verify it's condition. If the flight is successful, the official will complete the application and return it to the candidate. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the completed application is submitted to the appropriate national headquarters.

Non TBRA personnel requesting a certification flight will be charged an additional $5.00 fee in addition to the normal flight fee.

Certification Flight Request

By clicking the "Submit" buton, I affirm that I have read and understand the this entire page, the Personal Conduct, Safety, and launch policies and rules.

Upon the successful completion of the online test, you will be issued a "Certficate of Completion". You must either print this Certificate, or save it to a mobile device. This Certificate is required in either printed or electronic version prior to making a Certification Flight along with the completed certification request. Certification flights will not approved without all completed documentation.

The certifying official may accompany the candidate to the launch pad in order to assist with loading the rocket and preparing it for launch. The candidate MUST be present during the launch and flight of the rocket to answer any questions.

Certification Flights will be conducted between the hours of 12:00 and 2:00 pm. If the flier arrives late, or waits until the last minute, the flight may not take place.

Upon arrival and registration at the field, the candidate should bring the all test documentation and the certification flight request to the certifying official. The certifying official will retain these documents pending the flight.

Certification Flight requests must be submitted at least one (1) week prior to the desired launch event.  .

                                       NOTICE

Written exams for High-Power certification are no longer authorized on the field.

All written exams are conducted online on the respective NAR or TRA website.

TRA level 3 flights require the presence of a TAP member. TBRA currently has 2 TAP members.

NAR level 3 flights require the presence of a L3CC member. TBRA does not currently have a L3CC member.

Level 1 certifications do not require a written test. However, the candidate should be prepared to answer questions about the rocket, flight characteristics, stability, motor impulse, thrust, and recovery. Failure to demonstrate adequate knowledge may result in the certification flight being denied.

When the rocket has been assembled and is ready for flight, it will be inspected by the certifying official to ensure the rocket is flightworthy and safe to launch.
